Welcome to the Gardener’s Cottage & Greenhouse Restoration. These pages have been created to tell the fascinating story of this historic site, which was built in 1812 by renowned Irish landscape architect Denis McClair (Dionysius Makler) for the estate of Polish Count Severin Orlovskiy in Severynivka, Ukraine.
The ongoing story includes the proposed restoration of the structure and grounds through a partnership between the Podolian Agency for Regional Development, the United States Peace Corps and Rotary International. Funding is being coordinated by the Rotary Club of Lockport, Illinois, U.S.A. through a partnership with the Rotary Club of Vinnytsia, Ukraine. The restoration project is being developed under the direction of American historic preservation architect Michael Dixon, FAIA, a Peace Corps Volunteer stationed in Vinnytsia, Ukraine. We hope you will take a moment to both explore and support this restoration project to promote peace, education and economic development
